Proposes, designs, plans and conducts laboratory-and field-based, individual and team-based research programs to fill critical research gaps in our understanding of the biology, habitat, recruitment, and assessment of groundfish resources in Alaska.

Sea duty occurs in remote areas while exposed to weather and various sea states with long work hours.
