This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band. The ZP-4 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.

Manage the configuration of assigned vessels to ensure fleet standards, regulatory and mission requirements are met.

Experience: One full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12_ _of the Federal service with the operation, maintenance, repair and modernizations of ships including hull, mechanical and electrical systems; coordinate and oversee the technical aspect of special studies, engineering, electronics systems, mission systems, and marine data aquisition systems; ship class configuration management and life cycle planning.
